About this opportunity:

We are seeking a Drilling and Completions Supervisor with 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry in the core areas of Drilling and Completions who has the core skills and qualifications to effectively support the role responsibilities outlined. This position will support the SSDCI Operations Team with a focus on Drilling and Completions Well Execution. The ideal candidate would have a global experience base of platform Drilling and Completions operations. Knowledge of our Atlantic Region Jeanne d \xe2\x80\x99Arc Basin projects and harsh environment offshore subsea and platform operations and Interventions operations would be an asset.

This position will initially be in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, Newfoundland, then rotate to Ingleside, TX, USA, then begin a regular rotation offshore NL. They would be 40 hours/week initially in St. John\'s, then 4 weeks on 4 weeks off rotation in Ingleside, then finally 3 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation offshore.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

The Drilling and Completions Supervisor will be responsible for supporting West White Rose Project (WWRP) Operational Readiness and Assurance (ORA) Drilling, Completions and Interventions (DCI) team during the pre-operations / shipyard phase including but not limited to the following work scopes:

Facility familiarization in support of operational readiness

Interface with the stakeholders; project, construction, and operation teams

Safety champion by promoting safety awareness and safe performance among colleagues, project teams, and contractors

Contribute to safety program, health and environment protection, reliability, and efficiency in order to achieve world-class performance. Actively participate in both behavioral based safety and site safety walk programs.

Ensure compliance with Project Specifications, applicable codes and CNLOPB requirements

Ensure Operations and Maintenance Contractor Training and Competency requirements are met

Provide support for Cenovus DCI Third Party equipment integration

Provide support for the Operations and Maintenance Contractors Systems Integration Testing

Providing technical support for Mechanical Completion and System Commissioning including documentation reviews, walkdowns, punch item identification and closure. Support commissioning acceptance process. Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during commissioning and start-up

Assist in the completion, technical review and revision of operational documentation

The position will also be responsible for drilling and completions operations supervision offshore NL on the West White Rose Platform. This position will work closely with the SSDCI Team, the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Contractor (Parker Drilling), Cenovus Production Operations Team and Cenovus Third Party Service Contractors to safely execute Drilling and Completions operations.

Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Process Safety/Operational Integrity: Ensure that operations are conducted with adherence to WWRP Major Accident Hazard Assessment/Bowtie, Safety Critical Element (SCE) Performance Standards, Well Control/Pressure Control and barrier compliance procedures.

Safety Systems: Ensure that Drilling and Completions operations are conducted safely and effectively.

WWRP Interface and Supervision: Interface with O&M Contractor, Cenovus Third Party Service Providers, Production Operations and Drilling and Completions Engineering.

SIMOPS: Interface with Production Operations and Interventions for Platform Wide SIMOPS execution.

Job Planning: Logistics planning and coordination of equipment, tooling, personnel, and materials to support the Drilling and Completions operations. Development of detailed Operating Procedures to ensure that Drilling and Completions operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and within budget.

Drilling and Completions Well Execution: Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient Drilling and Completions operations are conducted in compliance with applicable Well Programs, Cenovus Policies and Procedures as well as Regulatory requirements.

Evaluation: Review post well key performance indicators (KPI\xe2\x80\x99s) against desired. Identify any issues or challenges encountered during the operation to drive continuous improvement for future operations.

Technology: Drive continuous improvement, optimization, and well delivery technical limit initiatives, and implement technologies and techniques for well design and operations efficiency optimization.

Who you are:

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Must be able to travel internationally.

Industry Certification from a recognized post-secondary institution; Technologist Diploma or Engineering/Geoscience Degree.

15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience in the Oil and gas industry and 10+ years Drilling and Completions experience, offshore experience preferred.

Strong technical skills and operational experience in the areas of Drilling and Completions. Familiarity with relevant software and technology is also necessary.

Knowledgeable in safety procedures, regulations, and industry standards in Drilling and Completions Operations. Knowledge and understanding of C-NLOPB and Certifying Authority regulatory requirements

Knowledgeable in quality assurance and quality control for Drilling and Completions operations.

Experience with Drilling O&M Contractors\xe2\x80\x99 equipment, practices, policies, procedures and safety systems.

Thorough knowledge of equipment, personnel and operating practices associated with an offshore Drilling and Completions operations.

Experience with behavioral safety system, incident investigation and emergency response.

Training as required by CAPP Standard Practice for Training and Qualifications of Personnel, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Training and Competency Matrix

This position will require the successful candidate to travel offshore, therefore a requirement to maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel.
