Job Description

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent you will be part of the Mine Department. The Drill and Blast Senior Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring adequate resources are available in order to meet drill and blast production requirements. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle\xe2\x80\x99s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Ensuring the safety of the team by applying a zero harm approach to all tasks performed;
• Planning, organizing, leading and controlling resources to ensure drill and blast targets are met;
• Lead, monitor and allocate daily responsibilities of the drill and blast crew;
• Meet or exceed production requirements while ensuring budget targets are met;
• Provide appropriate production reporting, ensuring identified grade control procedures are adhered to;
• Provide regular inspections of work sites in efforts of maintaining and promoting Health, Safety and Environmental practices to the workforce;
• Promote a climate of trust and participation.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with extensive open pit experience; Technical or College Diploma preferred;
• Minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in all components of open pit drilling and blasting operations;
• Minimum two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an open pit supervisory role; including drilling operations;
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of mines safety and inspections regulations(MOL and ERD);
• Strong business acumen and competent computer literacy skills (MS Office);
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening and presentation;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
• Knowledge on RC drilling.

YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:

• Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
• Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
