This role contributes to Starbucks success by managing the operational and creative strategies for the Canada design studio and leads a team of five to achieve business results with a focus on creating a high-quality design portfolio.

As a Senior Store Design Manager, you will:



Leadership and Team Development



Model leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values Drive the engagement, development and performance of all members of their team Build a diverse and inclusive team to maximize individual strengths and drive innovation Promote a growth mindset through continuous improvement, collaboration, and purposeful development conversations Serve as the primary design representative in Canadian leadership forums (e.g., business reviews, town halls, strategic planning)

Studio Operational Excellence



Lead studio operations with a focus on efficiency, accountability, and high-quality creative delivery Oversee project pipeline, workflow management, and implementation of operational standards Strategize and manage portfolio planning, scoping, consultant coordination, and innovation aligned with company standards Ensure adherence to brand standards while balancing innovation, localization, and budget constraints Administer contracts and manage vendor relationships to support project execution

Creative Direction & Design Strategy



Lead and oversee the Canadian portfolio's design creation and quality Provide creative direction through design reviews to ensure brand-accretive, high-quality store designs Champion locally relevant design solutions that resonate with Canadian customers and elevate brand equity Prepare and communicate expressive and functional design standards to ensure stakeholder alignment Stay current with industry trends and integrate insights to enhance studio relevance and design innovation Align creative efforts with business priorities and customer expectations to ensure strong ROI on design investments Prepare and communicate expressive and functional design standards to ensure stakeholder alignment

We'd love to hear from people with:



Bachelor's degree or diploma in design 10+ years' direct experience creating and managing design for a range of projects sizes and complexity 10+ years' direct experience creating new concepts and high-quality designs 10+ years' experience with interior or architectural design in retail, hospitality or restaurants 10+ years' experience administering contracts and working with vendors and agencies 10+ years demonstrated expertise with verbal communication and visual presentation of high-quality design Management experience with decision making authority and accountability, overseeing direct reports and managing budgets and expenses Experience leading pipeline and workflow management Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe creative apps

Compensation & Benefits





The typical hiring range for this position is $128,300 - $184,420 CAD annually. Your base pay will reflect the market location and may vary based on your experience, skills, and internal equity.
