Compliance review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, and the related foreign reporting requirements
Participate in tax planning engagements and the preparation of technical tax memos
Prepare instruction letters for the execution of corporate reorganizations, estate & post-mortem tax planning, business succession planning, and the purchase & sale of a business
Conducting tax research and interpreting tax legislation and proposed legislative changes
Providing technical expertise as an internal resource to staff who need tax support on their client files or on specific questions from their clients
Preparing client correspondence, including; reports & analysis, discussion of technical issues and recommendations, and attending client meetings where appropriate
Providing assistance to other offices of the Firm, as required, and collaborating with other service lines across the firm
The successful candidate will have:
Graduate of a University Accounting Program, or equivalent
Pursuing a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
2 years of experience in a public accounting firm
Willingness to enroll, or enrolled, in the CICA In-Depth Tax Course
2-3 years of work experience with Canadian Income Taxation
