YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

External Communications

  • Build robust and engaging communications strategies and plans to drive the BRP story, ensure execution and results.
  • Continually seek, recommend, and implement new and exciting external communication opportunities.
  • Write external executive communications, including speeches, presentations and speaking notes.
  • Build and review external communications documents such as Q&As, press releases, presentations, customer letters, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the Global Public Affairs and Government Relations team and Local Communications teams to support global communications initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing communications counsel to the global team.
  • Support the company\xe2\x80\x99s emergency response organization from a crisis communications perspective.
  • Manage the global PR partner agency.
Media relations and Spokesperson
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for inbound and outbound media activity.
  • Nurture and build strong relationships with relevant reporters and editors in Canada and the United States on all levels (local, regional, and national), mainly in the business, technology and CSR categories.
  • Maintain an up-to-date media list.
  • Research, write, edit, translate, and distribute news releases, media advisories, media pitches, backgrounders, and any other relevant media materials.
  • Assess and respond to incoming media inquiries, including determining appropriate responses, developing key messages, preparing interviews and acting as a spokesperson on issues where appropriate.
  • Plan, organize and execute media events.
  • Provide media training to executive leaders to maximize the quality of media opportunities.
Media Listening and Reputation
  • Monitor the global media landscape with the goal of protecting the company\xe2\x80\x99s reputation and managing the inherent risk.
  • Follow media industry trends, movements, and news.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of trends; clearly and confidently share thoughts and recommendations to increase and optimize BRP\xe2\x80\x99s external presence.
Management
  • Supervise a team of 1 or 2 public relations advisers
THIS ROLE IS A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

The best candidate will be deeply passionate about communications and has strong experience in corporate communications. They must be able to conduct business in both French and English, actively consume all forms of media and be very familiar with trends in on- and offline media consumption. This person should have a creative mind, be a clear and concise communicator and possess solid presentation skills, as well as strong critical and strategic thinking.
  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communication, public relations, or a field related to the job.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant public relations experience, including solid experience in giving media interviews in English and French.
  • Experience in a publicly traded-company (strong asset).
  • Excellent knowledge of the media landscape in Canada and the United States.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in both French and English.
  • A strong work ethic, critical thinking, a hands on approach, high attention to detail.
