Benevity is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineering Specialist to join our Data & Analytics team. The data flowing through our data platform directly contributes to the decision-making of our internal leaders and analysts in addition to clients running Goodness programs for some of the most iconic brands in the world.

What you will do:

  • Participate in analysis, design, implementation, and support of our multi-cloud-based infrastructure using Amazon Web Service (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for data analytics
  • Collaborate with our Cloud Data Platform team on remediating technical debts and optimizing existing AWS and GCP workflows and infrastructure
  • Support the Analytics and Insights teams with Business Intelligence infrastructure and deployments (Looker, Jaspersoft, and dbt)
  • Partner with DevOps and other operational teams to improve our tools and processes for managing and scaling our cloud infrastructure
  • Establish reliability guidelines and ensure systems meet our goals around durability, availability, and performance
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise, document defects in JIRA, perform code reviews, and work with colleagues to resolve production issues
  • Continually improve automation across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure management, and configuration management
  • Analyze and optimize the consumption of resources in development and production environments to reduce cost
  • PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization
What you bring:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with systems infrastructure, administration, design and/or management.
  • Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering or Systems Engineering
  • Experience with GCP architecture including but not limited to: Datastream, BigQuery, Looker, Cloud Storage, Cloud Billing, etc.
  • Experience with AWS architecture including but not limited to: Flink (MSK and EMR), Amazon Aurora, EC2, RDS, ALB, VPC, EFS, EBS, Autoscale groups, Direct Connect, etc
  • Familiarity with MySQL, Reverse Proxies, Firewalls/NAT, HTTPS, SSL Certificates, SFTP, FTPS, DNS, SMTP
  • Experience in configuration, implementation, and maintenance of SaaS platforms
  • Mastery with at least one scripting language (BASH, Python, etc.) We code on this team
  • Solid experience with the practice of Infrastructure as Code and have done infrastructure coding (Ansible and Terraform)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and metric collection systems
  • Familiarity with information security best practices and tools
  • Familiarity with backup strategies and tools
