Job Description


Our client is looking for a Senior Scientist who will become an integral part of a collaborative and innovative team leading the design and development of cancer genomic assays, including tissue-based assays and blood-based circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) tests. The Senior Scientist is part of our laboratory research and development team and reports to the Senior Manager, Assay development. We are looking for a key team player working in the cross-functional research and product development teams to ensure rigorous, fast-paced assay development of our molecular oncogenomic assays. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Focused on wet-lab genomic assay development by researching, designing, troubleshooting and carrying out experimental methodologies for assay and product development
  • Produces and analyzes appropriate sequencing data for R&D and new product development.
  • Maintains knowledge of precision oncology, genomics technology development in the field
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates across development teams including, bioinformatics, computational biology, artificial intelligence, engineering and software, and product management to ensure timely development of the highest quality end-to-end products.
  • Contributes and present results in internal scientific meetings, innovation planning, conferences
  • Contributes to product testing and validations including but not limited to troubleshooting, planning, designing experiments, analysis and report writing.
  • Contributes and writes scientific manuscripts and other scientific publications.
  • Responsible for training, onboarding and mentoring of research and development team members
  • Provides technical support and expertise to internal and customer-facing teams regarding methodologies, assays and products
  • Creates appropriate resources for new methods and assays, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals and educational materials.
  • Works under minimum supervision and reports to the Senior Manager, Assay Development.
Who you are
  • A Ph.D. in molecular biology, cancer genomics, or related discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of work-related experience.
  • Genomic assay development experience with methodologies including multiplex amplicon panels, hybrid capture-based, whole genome sequencing methods using next-generation sequencing technology such as Illumina, Oxford Nanopore, etc.
  • Design and development experience with other molecular biology platforms that support orthogonal validation of NGS including droplet digital PCR, qPCR, etc.
  • Competent in using bioinformatics analysis tools and genomic databases
  • A positive and innovative team player that can drive collaborative projects

Job Type: Full-time Salary: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year Benefits:
