Overview

DNA Genotek products are marketed worldwide and support thousands of customers as they achieve breakthroughs in genomic and microbiome research, in diagnostics laboratories, in the pharmaceutical industry, in companion animal genomics and in personalized medicine.

The Senior Product Manager within a Business Unit at Orasure or one of its subsidiaries is responsible for the successful planning, definition, introduction and on-going support of assigned portfolio of products within business unit. This portfolio may represent an entire market vertical within the business unit. As required, the Senior Product will manage a small team of high-functioning Product Managers to successfully deliver on the growth within their assigned market vertical.

The Senior Product Manager will focus on the development and execution of the product strategy, develop the market and positioning, engage with key partner and opinion leader networks, and drive the commercial success of those products within their respective markets.

Snapshot of Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance for product concept,
  • development and realization functions with the intent to maximize revenue, profits, market coverage and other business-defined goals
  • Provide input, as the voice of customer, through various stages of product definition, prototyping and development, working with cross-business stakeholders and providing clear direction to the product steering group.
  • Manage core teams for product development projects
  • Be a product expert or lead of team of product experts that will have thorough understanding of products in order to help manage customer complaints and customer inquiries
  • Serve as the product champion, ensuring product performance meets expectations and explore ways for continuous improvement and market adoption.
  • Gather and evaluate customer input, prepare and verify requirements including validation criteria, advise development teams, and promote and champion products internally and externally
  • Must be able to work cross functionally with other stakeholders in other departments, including regulatory and clinical affairs, R&D, operations and sales.
  • Maintain prioritized list of NPI projects and work closely with Product & Project Managers to ensure cross-functional support and resourcing according to the prioritization.
Financial & Reporting
  • Assist in development of 5-year revenue targets and assumptions
  • Work with management to develop annual Strategic Imperatives
  • Analyze revenue on a monthly basis to determine trends and assess health of portfolio of products
  • Analyze sales and revenue metrics to determine trends leading to revenue increases and declines. You should be able to justify projects, create business plans, forecast customer acceptance.
  • Provide reporting inputs to monthly EC meetings, Quarterly earning reports & CEO updates.
Sales & Marketing
  • Work with Marketing & PM team to develop and maintain portfolio brand and ensure integrity of brand look, feel and messaging
  • Ensure success of conferences by working with sales and marketing colleagues to develop conference experience
  • Work with PM team to train sales force on a quarterly basis regarding new product introductions, new messaging, and new segments
  • Work with Sales team on key accounts as needed to ensure successful sale and ultimate customer satisfaction
  • Perform/participate in market research activities such as focus groups, customer interviews, trade shows and professional meetings.
Strategy
  • You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, contributing to the strategic vision and making this vision a reality.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with membership and advocacy organizations to help drive product awareness and revenue
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret literature, posters and presentations regarding relevant subjects and incorporate into actionable information within the organization and develop into collateral
  • Develop new segments for sales to target including development of requisite messaging, collateral, targets and expected revenues
What You Bring:
  • Requires Bachelor\'s Degree in health, business or science related field. PhD or MBA are highly desirable.
  • 5+ years experience in product management, marketing, R&D or related function with a strong track record of bringing new products to market
  • Prior product management experience in medical devices industry (particularly diagnostics) is highly desirable
  • Experience developing KOL networks with Subject Matter Experts and membership associations to drive awareness of product. Existing KOL networks in domestic infectious disease is an asset.
  • Experience working directly with a sales team to set and meet sales targets
  • Experience conducting research studies to help bolster product claims, understand market trends and/or identify new customer segments.
  • Understanding and managing skills for the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to release and maintenance
  • Must be able to achieve results in a cross-functional team environment, exhibiting formal and informal leadership skills and strong goal / results orientation
  • Experience leading a team of high-performing individuals to meet the growth objectives & strategic imperatives within the program or product area
  • Proven track record of results, either contributing to or directly, developing, driving and maintaining high performing product lines and achievement of product growth and revenue budget
  • Ambitious, self-motivated individual with the ability to complete tasks and without significant oversight
  • Ability to travel internationally
