For more than four decades they have assisted domestic and international customers with developing and integrating Iridium hardware into a wide range of devices and applications, designed innovative hardware products, and created industry leading software and situational awareness solutions. Meridia is happy to partner with MetOcean in their search for a Senior Product Manager to join them in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Role Description

As the Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. This will include managing customer feedback and requests, preparing product documentation, defining new products and features, managing product beta releases, and supporting product launches. You will also work closely with and provide support to Sales and Engineering throughout the entire product development process and lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact with the Sales team on all information related to their Products
  • Providing guidance and technical recommendations throughout the development process
  • Managing all feedback, ensuring everything captured is appropriately \'groomed\' for inclusion into later products/projects as needed
  • Providing core content and verification of key documentation, including marketing material, user guides (and all associated), DEV kit details, sample data sets, external release notes, website content, etc.
  • Writing requirements, managing the review process, and providing support to Engineering through development
  • Managing product beta releases; setting expectations, vetting customers, and tracking & reporting on outcomes
  • Working with Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and other departments as needed to ensure the successful launch of new products/features
  • Providing training or demos as needed - both internal & external
  • Setting and communicating product pricing to all relevant departments
  • Maintaining a general Roadmap for the Product lines you are responsible for
  • Performing ongoing catalog grooming, ensuring our products remain relevant and suitable for the market
  • Managing the end-of-life of products as needed
  • Providing documentation support for tertiary content - legal, terms of use, terms of service, App Store descriptions, etc.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of key Customers/upcoming contracts, needs, scope, and overall opportunities, etc.
  • Leading the buildout, training, launch, and ongoing management of the MetOcean IoT offerings
Your Qualifications

With a wealth of experience in product management, you have extensive knowledge on product roadmaps, writing product requirements, and managing projects. Your experience has ideally come from a similar industry, such as security, defense, or communications. You have excellent communication skills and are able to speak on highly technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge. Additionally, your organizational skills and attention to detail are top notch, and you are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Your qualifications include:
  • 5+ years in a Product Management-type role
  • Experience working with software teams in an agile environment
  • Experienced at writing product requirements
  • Success in delivering technology products/services in a high growth environment
  • Experience in communications, defence, or security markets is beneficial
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative with a positive attitude
  • Dependable, self-starter, and a self-motivated, innovative problem solver
