Home Hardware Stores Limited has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our Inventory Planning and Replenishment team, for a one-year Term. In this role you will influence and implement business opportunities and guide short and long-term merchandise inventory planning, forecasting, and inventory management. The Senior Planner will also manage and approve Open to Buy decisions with a view on turnover, sales, and gross margin. This position will focus on the financial success of a complex merchandise planning and inventory management environment.
What You'll Do:

• In partnership with the merchandise buying team, direct and support the development of the merchandise financial plans and forecasts.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of high performing Planners capable of delivering results.
• Oversee the inventory planning and forecasting process with a view to total sales, receipts, inventory and margin.
• Collaborate with Merchants, Replenishment and Operation teams to support Category management objectives. Ensure consistency of information, share best practices, and develop systems knowledge.
• Results focused approach to business with attention to the health and wellness of the inventory and business financial success.
• Manage and approve merchandise departments Open to Buy decisions, with a focus on purchase spend, inventory turnover, sales and margin optimization and risk assessment.
• Identify untapped profit potential and gaps to ensure we meet targets.
• Seek opportunities for overall business improvement.
• Develop and implement plans, procedures, and processes focused on enhancing employee performance and collaboration between Merchants, Planning, Finance, and Replenishment.
• Lead the process in business reporting and product data accuracy partnering with supporting groups.
• The role will proactively report on the health of the business and facilitate decisions, communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to managers and cross-functional team members.

What we're looking for:

• A college diploma in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain and 3-5 years of Merchandise Planning experience.
• Ability to coach, encourage, and teach individuals to grow beyond their comfort zones.
• Communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritize and manage a busy workload.
• Project Management and Mathematical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done.
• Excellent interpersonal skills: a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor.
• Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change.
• Drive to seek improvement, personally, professionally, and for a team.
• Accountability.
