Senior Manager, Transportation

What you will get to do:

  • Oversee Delivery Driver processes and accountabilities
  • Product owner for D365 and / or other software implementations related to Transportation
  • Responsible to receive rates from carriers, review rate agreements, negotiate and format the rates as per the yearly freight tender requirements, as well as, ad hoc and spot market requirements
  • Facilitate 3rd party Freight RFP / RFQ's and subsequent Agreements for services
  • Ensure all 3rd party Freight carriers are complaint with MLF requirements and policies
  • Responsible to manage Freight Payables and resolve invoice discrepancies with accounts payable
  • Oversee processes related to Optimizing/Routing Carriers for outbound shipments, developing service requirements.
  • Work with the Senior Logistics Analyst in developing budget and provide Variance explanations in support of regular reporting rhythms
  • Track EVP inbound status and communicate with the required stakeholders any deviations from plan or service failures
  • Lead the development and maintenance of KPI's and establish COOP Targets as per R2 reporting
  • Maintain a safe working environment and physical condition of area accountabilities.

Your education & experience matters to us:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience required, including a minimum of five years in a Management role, in Management of Transportation, Distribution / Logistics experience in the food industry, preferably in a ready-to-eat and unionized environment
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.
  • Working knowledge of knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace H&S regulations
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in a related field an asset or relative equal work experience in a related field.
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt (minimum) an asset
  • PLog or CITT an asset
