The Okta Security team\'s mission is to strengthen Okta\'s position as the leading Identity-as-a-Service solution by identifying and resolving risks to the employees, product, and, most importantly, our customers. With the ever-increasing pace of cloud application adoption, companies are struggling to find ways to assess risk accurately and act at the speed of their business. The Senior Manager/Director, Security Education will lead and manage the Security Education Team in our efforts to support and educate our technical subject matter experts across our engineering functions. The Security Education team creates training materials and delivers live sessions to the engineering teams. We work alongside the rest of the teams in Product Security to provide a consistent methodology for working with the engineering teams across Okta. We are looking for an experienced Sr Manager/Director interested in ideating and creating training materials and someone who is comfortable presenting in front of technical audiences. You will take ownership of improving the materials and processes, enabling engineers to develop more secure applications.
What You\'ll Do
  • Define the priorities and roadmap for the Education efforts as part of the Product Security team at Okta.
  • Work closely with Engineering teams to understand their current needs and identify new training opportunities.
  • Develop educational materials, including videos, documentation, and other related resources.
  • Present live training sessions for different engineering teams

Your Background and Skills
  • 5+ years of multifaceted security leadership and management experience in a technology-centric company
  • Experience presenting technical materials
  • Experience with modern web application components, architecture, and design principles
  • Experience with compliance standards requirements (PCI, ISO, SOC2, etc.)
  • Experience creating and presenting technical materials, both live and in recordings
  • Experience identifying common (OWASP Top 10/CWE Top 25) web application vulnerabilities through secure code review (Java, .Net, Go, C, C++, C#, Swift, Kotlin, Python)
  • Experience conducting manual Web Application Penetration Test
  • Experience evaluating modern web application components, architecture, and design principles
  • Ability to explain vulnerability risks and remediation options to developers
