Senior Manager, Optical Operations

Reporting to the Sr Director of Optical, Senior Manager, Optical Operations will lead a passionate team of Opticians and Optical Managers. The Senior Manager will be accountable for managing operations and financial metrics, sales targets, and encouraging a client centric culture. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have the opportunity to partner with our Category and Professional services team to scale the business by rolling out innovative programs while providing highest level of service to our customers. You will also be on the field, partnering with our stores and driving collaboration. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:


  • Champion and inspire a passionate team of Optical professionals to exceed our goals and deliver a consistent world-class customer experience across all sites

  • Foster a customer-focused sales culture across your stores through store visits, coaching, training, and role modeling

  • P&L accountability (Sales, Margin, Shrink, Labour) for your district, including weekly and periodic reporting/score carding against key metrics

  • Drive execution of standards and key programs in partnership with our Category teams

  • Partner with our Human Resources on Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Management and Payroll

  • Set high standard for customer service and proactively resolve any customer service concerns.

  • Ensure adherence to Provincial and Federal Regulation, Networking, Competition Laws etc.

  • Builds and maintains partnerships with District Managers, Store Managers and ASM\'s to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the business.

  • Working with Professional Services team to build and execute plans to deliver against our Optometrist strategy

  • Actively champion an inclusive work environment with a dedication to raising awareness, ongoing conversations, and education

  • Monitor the competitive environment to ensure in-depth knowledge of new competition entering the market and work with Operations and Merchandising Teams on a planned response.


What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need:

  • Post-Secondary education

  • Minimum of 5-7 years retail management experience

  • A recognized leader with a successful track record of operating and scaling a business

  • Strong Financial competence in relation to managing Site specific P&Ls

  • Demonstrated success influencing teams through ambiguity and complexity to provide clear direction in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment

  • Proven ability coach and influence stores in achieving their sales targets and fostering a sales culture.

  • A passion for keeping customer satisfaction at the core of all communication and strive to provide a positive experience and build long term relationships

  • Travel Required

  • The role can be based out of BC/Yukon, Ontario, Alberta or Manitoba
