Our

Senior Manager, Housing

is an important leader within our organization, providing leadership of the housing programming and services, and building operations (building systems, building maintenance, purchasing, asset and supply management) portfolios for EHM programs and properties.

Founded in 1913, Evangel Hall Mission (EHM) is a multi-service agency that provides support to people who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. EHM is home to over 160 individuals and families, living in our two subsidised apartment buildings. Residence staff offer support with eviction prevention, information and referral and community development. We also offer hot meals, showers, laundry facilities and respite from the elements through our Drop In Centre. Tenants and Drop In participants can access spiritual care, volunteer and employment opportunities, and voluntary financial trusteeship from EHM staff. They can also access a range of supports from community partners onsite at EHM, such as Narcotics Anonymous, vaccine clinics, nursing care, legal clinics, programs offered by Toronto Public Health and many more.

What you would bring to the role:



Successful completion of a university degree in social work, social sciences, or a related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Member in good standing with the associated regulatory college or equivalent body. A Graduate/ postgraduate Degree in Social Work or Public Administration would be an asset.

Minimum of seven (7) years of recent relevant progressive experience including leadership within an organization

Ability to generate plans to operationalize goals and strategies, and to oversee and manage activities and solutions in the immediate and shorter term

Ability to set expectations for, and achievement of, motivating performance standards

Leads by example, mentoring and building skills and competencies of others

Ability to generate ideas which are innovative and operationally sound

Ability to respectfully foster an innovative environment which challenges the status quo

Demonstrates and encourages creativity, innovation and adaptability

Demonstrates knowledge of housing programming and service standards and principles, including development of programs supporting case management and community development approaches

Demonstrates knowledge of mental health legislation and best practices, understanding how to work with municipal services and the health care system to support tenants experiencing chronic mental health and addictions related crisis

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Professionalism, judgment and discretion in dealing with others within a faith based environment

Ability and skills in the areas of negotiation, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, problem-solving and assessment

What we would offer (a more detailed job description will be provided when invited to interview for the role):



You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional requirements to work evenings and weekends to attend meetings.

You will be based out of our 552 Adelaide St West location in downtown Toronto. There may be requirements for you to attend our Portland Place location. The buildings are just 5 minutes walk from each other. There will also be occasional local travel to attend meetings, which can occur in the evening or possibly on weekends.

A competitive annual salary in the range

$80,000-$90,000,

which will be determined based on your experience.
