Department Overview

TD's Digital Strategy, Innovation and Payments group focuses on accelerating TD's innovation agenda to position TD for the future. The team is comprised of 4 pillars: Digital Strategy, which connects Line of Business strategies to ensure we have an Enterprise Digital Strategy that positions TD to win in the market; Enterprise Payments, spanning strategy through to large-scale execution of payments initiatives; Enterprise Innovation & Design, which steers our innovation agenda and leads the Design Center of Excellence; and finally External Ecosystems, which leverage partnerships and strategic relationships across industry ecosystems.

Job Requirements

Specific Educational Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
  • Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term; prior management consulting experience is a plus
  • Thrives under uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver concise executive recommendations using disparate data from multiple sources including financial metrics, transactional metrics, etc.
  • Significant depth of digital experience and building maturity roadmaps in a variety of contexts
  • Highly effective "story teller" / communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
  • Proven ability in leveraging deep subject matter expertise to develop and deploy a vision and align others to that vision. Creative thought leadership required while listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of vision
  • Excellent relationship management skills, effectively supporting multiple complex relationships with a superior ability to make things happen using positive influence
  • Expertise in working effectively in teams - requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
  • Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities

This role reports to the VP, Enterprise Digital Strategy, a senior leader within the Digital Strategy, Innovation & Payments group, responsible for overseeing a team of digital strategy professionals. As a Senior Digital Strategist, your accountabilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Analyze the broader digital space across industries on an ongoing basis, develop Point-of-Views (POVs) and highlight significant opportunities and threats to the team and the leadership in a timely manner
  • Partner across the lines of business, journeys, and platforms to build the enterprise digital strategy, which takes into account individual business and platform needs. Consolidate end-to-end digital objectives for each line of business, ensuring connectivity into a cohesive long-term strategy.
  • Develop and report on the Enterprise Digital Scorecard to measure performance against the Enterprise Digital Strategy
  • Work with leadership to design and own the interaction model with the relevant lines of business, journeys, and platforms to ensure overall alignment of reporting on the Enterprise Digital roadmap to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ongoing management of Enterprise Digital roadmap reporting to senior leadership.
  • Identify / bring visibility to relevant cross-business capability or investment priorities through the aggregation of objectives and strategy.
  • Partner with the VP, Enterprise Digital Strategy, and other Digital executives to identify and assess big "I" innovation opportunities in support of the long-term Digital Roadmap.
  • Develop benchmarking approach to digital maturity, supporting the identification of opportunities in the long-term strategy and providing an outside-in perspective on market best practices and trends.
  • Significant year 1 priority to define the digital interaction model for the bank (e.g., interface with innovation, journeys, platforms, other digital transformation teams, etc.).
