The team:

A core member of global marketing team, the Senior Manager, Digital Strategy will work closely with key stakeholders in the Global Campaign Teams, Analytics, Marketing Automation, CRM Marketing, Demand Gen, and Regional Marketing teams to help promote Genetec's brand presence online and drive website and ad-related conversions. This is a senior team management & leadership role that will participate in defining our vision for the website and digital experience, our visitor and leads acquisition strategies, and supporting our overall demand generation initiatives. The successful candidate will have demonstrated agency management skills, a track record of successful digital leadership, and a deep knowledge of current digital demand generation practices.

Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing, the Senior Manager will lead teams that support company's online, SEM, and SEO strategies. This includes planning, budgeting, managing, reporting and ongoing optimization based on clearly defined objectives and KPIs. Beyond collaborating on HQ-driven activities, the ideal candidate will be a key player in helping our distributed, global marketing teams achieve their outcomes through a consultative & services-oriented model that is supported by external digital agencies.

What your day will look like:

  • Plan and oversee the vision, strategy and tactics related to the website, portal, and SEO/SEM teams
  • Define a yearly digital plan through cross-functional collaboration, build and monitor the digital marketing budget (website development, ads, systems & tools) with your teams
  • Oversee a significant budget, monitoring spend and reporting on an ongoing basis
  • Define goals and KPIs across all your areas of responsibility, coordinate performance reporting on a global scale
  • Help scale our web & SEM operations by establishing strong relationships with our existing digital agencies and/or by onboarding new agencies, own the oversight of agency budgets, goals and productivity
  • Work closely with SEM managers who deploy the right mix of SEO and paid search/ads/retargeting tactics to support our demand generation activities and drive continuous improvement of our online authority
  • Collaborate with the website team who drive the customer digital experience, manage the website development roadmap, and support them in establishing yearly objectives
  • Provide ongoing support to other Marketing Teams through coaching and knowledge transfer, onboarding of new regional digital agencies and scheduled performance assessments
About you:

You are a digital expert who has an in-depth knowledge of web, organic, paid, and retargeting activities, with hands-on experience in a wide range of digital tools and platforms. You work hard at being a great manager and leader, and your people can look to for guidance, coaching and support. After seeking to understand our global marketing and sales objectives, you have the experience to define the future-state, the team and agency infrastructure, and the ability to set clear OKRs to help achieve our goals.. At the same time, you are just as comfortable with jumping right into our various digital tools (CMS, analytics, SEO tools, ad platforms) to get the job done and coach others on how to do it. You have a solid understanding of digital analytics, performance monitoring, and ongoing optimization through data insights. Finally, your default approach is to collaborate with your peers, priding yourself on your ability to influence others.
  • 8-10 years experience in website management, SEO, SEM, online advertising, and analytics - ideally in the high technology/software space
  • Demonstrated experience in managing significant budgets
  • Solid agency management experience including identifying prospective agency partners, designing RFPs, reviewing quotes, onboarding, planning, and scaling up
  • Deep understanding of benchmarking and goal-setting, defining the appropriate metrics to measure, evaluating and reporting against goals & objectives
  • In-depth experience in how digital marketing activities come together to drive & understand conversions: lead management, email marketing, search engine marketing, analytics, and web
  • Experience in defining audiences across analytics & ad platforms, incl. working with lookalike audiences
  • Hands-on experience with the following types of platforms:
  • Project Management tools
  • Web Content Management Systems
  • Paid Ad & Search Platforms, SEO tools
  • Analytics & data platforms
  • A/B Testing platforms
  • Data analysis & optimization experience pertaining to website
  • Good written & verbal communications; English proficiency (spoken and written), French an asset
