What is the Opportunity?

The Group Risk Management (GRM) within RBC is on a journey to transform the way we work. We recognize that in order to maintain our position as a global leader in Risk Management, we need to evolve beyond our comfort zone and to unlock the full potential of our people. That\xe2\x80\x99s where the Senior Manager, Design Strategy comes in.

You will get to support every core part of RBC\xe2\x80\x99s Risk groups, working across multiple programs, platforms and disciplines that require divergent skills. As a baseline, the ideal candidate can communicate well and work through complex and ambiguous challenges independently, supporting senior executives up to and including the C-suite. You need to be a self-driven, hyper engaged individual that thrives in ambiguity \xe2\x80\x93 you love creating value in your own way without the need for supervision but will grow exponentially within the structure that RBC and GRM provides

What will you do?

  • Engage with partners working on wildly transformative \xe2\x80\x93 and varied \xe2\x80\x93 projects from across the organization that span our digital Agile labs to our innovation partners at Borealis AI and with academic institutions globally
  • Ideating and prototyping new processes, tools and capabilities utilizing dynamic data visualization, segmentation and analytics tools
  • Participate in specialized strategic projects as part of our transformation office
  • Help upskill everyone within the Risk function on Service Design, Systems Thinking and adapting to the Future of Work
  • Build a strong network of intrapreneurs within GRM and RBC; create bridges between various labs, research institutions and the innovation community
What do you need to succeed?
  • You love to create smarter ways of doing and visualizing things and are a natural storyteller. You can take big complex ideas with lots of data and turn it into powerful insights that drive action
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re comfortable leading others without authority and are excited by working in a dynamic business environment where you get to realize your own vision and have ownership in the final output
  • You are a creative AND analytical thinker that is self-driven, loves to ask lots and lots and lots of questions while challenging the status quo
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and can get your point across in a succinct, story driven way
  • You are able to empathize with others, and are able to see the world from someone else\xe2\x80\x99s point of view
  • You have work experience in qualitative research, design execution, and/or consulting
  • You are an experienced human-centred design and design thinking practitioner that is also a a strong systems thinker and creative problem solver
  • You are flexible and adaptable, allowing you to be comfortable in environments with a high degree of ambiguity
