What\xe2\x80\x99s it like working as a Senior Manager, Credit Risk Management at Community Trust Company?
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Sr Manager, Credit Risk Management (DCRM) is responsible for the independent oversight of CTC\xe2\x80\x99s Credit Risk Management policies. This role contributes to sound asset growth by delivering an effective post funding loan review program and provides advice and recommendations on residential underwriting policies and procedures for both Alt-A and prime lending.It has functional reporting accountability to the Risk Review Committee.

  • Oversight responsibility for CTC\xe2\x80\x99s Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) Credit Quality Control Review Program which includes but is not limited to:
  • Overseeing post funding loan reviews on a monthly basis for the Prime and ALT- A loan programs
  • Loans underwritten in accordance with Company Risk Appetite Statement
  • Loans underwritten in adherence to Guideline B-20
  • Complete and accurate loan documentation
  • Loans approved within designated lending authorities
  • Report loan review findings on a monthly basis to senior management and the Board
  • Keep abreast of relevant industry practices, legislation and guidelines issued by regulators which govern the lending activities of Federally Regulated Financial Institutions
  • Chair of the Mortgage Broker Monitoring Committee overseeing Broker Monitoring and DNU lists
  • Member of the Lending Advisory Committee
  • Oversees default loan reviews in support of Special Handling Committee activities
  • Provide transaction analysis and trending reports including tracking of all exceptions to lending policies.
  • Provide reporting to the Credit Committee and the Board on the level of compliance with established credit and lending policies and board-approved credit risk appetite
  • Work with business unit heads to assess and recommend changes to credit risk policies and procedures to meet sound credit risk management practices and appropriate regulatory requirements
  • Assist senior management in the analysis and reporting to meet regulatory requirements (OSFI)
  • Participate in the review of risk rating of the residential mortgage products
  • Assist in maintaining and developing appropriate credit policies for the residential mortgage products
  • Act as a subject matter expert and when required, train and coach others on residential business requirements.
Credit Risk Management for Mortgage Credit Policy
  • Work with the Underwriting, Compliance, Mortgage Administration teams and other relevant functions to design and implement effective risk monitoring mechanisms
  • Support efficient workflow without compromising control
  • Ensure strict compliance with all regulations and controls as set by CTC and external regulatory authorities
  • Ensure good control mechanisms are in place throughout the credit cycle and to ensure satisfactory audit clearance
  • Recommend service level agreement/business process agreement with other lines of business, i.e. Compliance, IT, Mortgage Administration..

  • University B.S. or B.A. degree in business or related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience in residential mortgage real estate lending.
  • 5+ years in consumer risk management, experience in credit policy management is preferred.
  • Experience in residential mortgage administration.
  • Strong analytical power, sound credit skills, good logical thinking ability and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under immense pressure.
  • Experience in report preparation and presentation.
  • Experience in G Suite business products.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong ability to build relationships across multiple business units
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally electronically, by videoconferencing and face-to-face.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing working environment.
  • Experience in report preparation and presentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
