Job Title Senior Manager, Corporate Communications – RBC Insurance (18 month contract)


















What will you do?

  • Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies for Insurance, supporting the Director, Communications for Insurance to ensure consistent messaging, raise awareness of insurance teams/leaders and their work, and effective management of reputational risks.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders across Insurance to determine communications objectives, strategies and tactics; support launches, key themes and news, raising RBC Insurance’s profile internally and externally.
  • Help anticipate and manage reputational risks, assisting with rapid and effective responses as required.
  • Provide communications support to VP Digital & Transformation, Strategy & Enablement, and priority change projects as well as HR programs and initiatives for RBC Insurance.
  • Support content development for key employee events such as town halls and leadership forums as well as some platform-wide initiatives.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the department, the organization and externally around organizational change projects to align activities and maximize benefits for RBC Insurance.
  • Actively measure, analyze and report communications efforts.
What do you need to succeed? Must-haves
  • University degree and/or other post-secondary education (or equivalent experience)
  • Communications professional with minimum 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in the insurance industry / financial services
  • Extensive experience providing strategic advice to senior executives, including issues and change management experience
  • Ability to facilitate between and influence executives and key decision makers
  • Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Job Summary In this role, you will develop and execute effective internal and external communication strategies that support RBC Insurance’s business objectives while ensuring alignment with RBC’s overall enterprise priorities. Working with a team of communicators, you will provide advice, counsel and support to senior leaders and partners, driving compelling storytelling that enhances and protects RBC Insurance’s reputation in the marketplace and workplace.
