OverviewWere looking for client centric individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of injured workers. This includes reviewing and assessing evidence, conducting investigations, determining permanent disability benefit (PDB) entitlement under the Workers Compensation Act (the Act), and communicating PDB decisions to clients, employers and their advocates as needed.How youll make a difference: Youll ensure people with permanent work-related disabilities get the benefits they need.Where youll workAt WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.What you'll do

• Manage a caseload independently in accordance with the Act, compensation policies, best practices, established standards and procedures, while using discretion and initiative to provide quality adjudication and timely benefit delivery
• Perform complex adjudication requiring a significant level of discretion and judgement as well as sound application of established policy and/or practice guidance; caseload may include a variety of claims requiring the assessment and adjudication of permanent psychological conditions
• Make adjudicative decisions on permanent long-term disability benefits that may deny a benefit assessment, reassessment and/or entitlement in the event of non-supportive evidence
• Review and manage a variety of tasks related to claims

Your background and experience:

• A bachelors degree or higher in a relevant discipline including, but not limited to, social work, psychology, conflict resolution, or biomedical
• A minimum of three years of experience making complex adjudicative decisions or applying law and policy to make complex determinations
