We are looking for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner for a 12-14 month term to join us in the exciting work we do in the Human Resources Department. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, it\xe2\x80\x99ll be your responsibility to develop and implement HR plans and strategies aligned with business plans to meet the needs of the business group. What You Get To Do:
  • Act as a liaison for the business to ensure information is communicated to functional (COE) HR to inform HR strategy, program design, and planning.
  • Partner with the business to identify talent gaps and propose and implement changes necessary to address risks.
  • Work closely with Recruiter and HR Advisor on full-cycle recruitment, including identifying creative ways to attract talent across the business unit, ensuring the hiring manager is supported throughout the recruitment and onboarding process, and consulting on compensation and benefits packages
  • Work with HR Advisor to ensure employee data integrity is maintained
  • Partner with the business to design succession plans for key talent and key job positions aligned with the company\xe2\x80\x99s overall succession management philosophy.
  • Identify training and development gaps and supports the identification of high potential employees.
  • Assist leaders in developing Career Development Plans with employees and coach the leaders on career development discussions.
  • Provide communications and direction on annual performance assessments including engaging leaders in calibrating individual and team performance
  • Consult with the business on the organizational structure/HR-related processes of the business. Support the business in reviewing and redesigning their organizational structure around strategic objectives.
  • In collaboration with Workforce Planning and Analytics COE, analyze HR information to identify trends/issues within the business and leverage data to proactively develop solutions based on HR programs, policies and processes.
  • Ensure compensation decisions are aligned with the business needs and requirements and solutions fit with the company\xe2\x80\x99s overall compensation philosophy. Provides consultation with leaders regarding compensation-related matters, including salary recommendations, job evaluation, in-range salary adjustments, promotions, annual and mid-year base salary merit increases, variable pay, and discretionary bonus programs and as well as other reward and recognition programs.
  • Plan and implement HR programs, policies and processes within business, ensuring delivery is focused on meeting business needs while maintaining consistency with overall corporate approach.
  • Support and identify training needs, facilitate workshops or information sessions pertaining to HR Programs and present to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide expert level advice, interpret and communicate complex matters relating to Corporate Policy and external employment law matters.
  • Provide direction and guidance to the business on the interpretation and application of collective agreements and on managing employees in a unionized environment.
  • Facilitate the dispute resolution of the grievance process.
  • Provide support to leaders collaboratively with the Disability HR COE and/or Health & Safety teams to assist with complex aspects of the disability management program, return to work and assessing accommodations for return to work.
  • Address issues such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Conduct investigations and mediate conflicts to resolution. In collaboration with the Labour Relations COE, facilitate and/or lead investigations into human rights/equal opportunities, and provide information for preparation of HR related legal cases.
  • Provide support during crisis situations to ensure business continuity and provides input to business continuity planning.
  • Partner with leaders to support understanding of company initiatives with employees including business strategy and innovation. Has a pulse on employee engagement and provides insight to leaders.
  • Facilitate the implementation of feedback process to improve engagement (i.e. employee pulse surveys, focus groups, exit interview results).
  • Support change management initiatives, where required. Apply change management methodology to programs and initiatives impacting employees.
  • Provide consultation to leaders in addressing performance concerns through disciplinary/non-disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Coach and influence the management team to bring best solutions. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees and leaders.
  • Build trusting relationships, have difficult conversations and influence outcomes with leaders through deep knowledge and understanding of the business needs.
  • Ensure employee onboarding program is aligned with business needs and culture.
Who You Are:
  • Minimum of a post-secondary degree in Business, Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in HRBP role working as a strategic advisor with the business.
  • CPHR Designation is an asset.
  • Experience working with employee associations or unions is an asset.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic sense.
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to engage, have difficult conversations and influence outcomes while maintaining strong trusting relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills including, written, verbal and presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to role-model collaborative leadership skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to adapt and change to business requirements.
