Joddes Limited is the Family Office of the Goodman Family, based in Montreal. The Goodman Family is the founder, owner, and operator of , one of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s largest generic pharmaceutical companies with a growing presence in Canada and Internationally.

The Family Office operates independently from the operating businesses with its own location, management and administrative team. The team has been managing an inter-generational investment portfolio of institutional size since 2005 and employs a disciplined, structured, and institutional approach to investing.

The Family Office reports to a Board comprised of family and independent members that meet regularly and interact with the Family Office in a well-structured manner.

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst, Accounting will be joining a dedicated team responsible for the financial reporting on 30+ companies (Canadian, US & International) and for the charitable foundation managed by the Family Office.

Tasks and responsibilities :

  • Preparation, process and analyze the financial statements and various accounting and audit reports
  • Support the Controller with the budget process and optimization of processes and implementation of department objectives, as well as support other accounting initiatives as they arise
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in financial reporting, as well as operational and financial processes including tax analysis, budget analysis, journal entry validation, cash management and cost allocation
  • Ability to understand business objectives/requirements, applying critical thinking in the development of reports and analytical tools tailored towards organizational needs to establish trends and help draw valid conclusions
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity and professionalism
  • Strong analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills in cross-functional environments. Ability to translate user requirements into technical specifications
  • Keen interest and proven experience in data quality, database management, documentation, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple overlapping projects within required timelines
  • Excellence in leadership and teamwork
  • Strong technical skills in accounting with a good base knowledge of tax and an excellent knowledge in Excel
  • Knowledge of Sage 300 software considered an asset
Education : Bachelor

Experience : 3 years: A minimum of 3 to 5 years + of relevant work experience; aptitude and interest in investment management with industry experience within an accounting group considered a strong asset
