Your role

As a Senior Financial Analyst in our team, you will provide a high degree of specialized support to Directors and Corporate Managers in the areas of Accounting and Reporting. This includes conducting detailed and complex analysis and research of financial information and other non-financial data to support those activities.

You will guide and liaise with Corporate, Regional and Network Finance and Administration in order to gather information to support the results of their analysis. You will also conduct analysis to ensure adherence to accounting policies, practices, internal controls, identify deviations and make recommendations for changes.

You will conduct detailed and complex analysis of financial and non-financial data to support:

  • The monthly and quarterly financial statements for Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
  • The financial statements in the Annual Report of the Corporation.
  • The annual attest audit and quarterly specified procedures.
  • The license renewals and annual return to CRTC.
  • Compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • The accounting and the financial disclosures for specific transactions.
  • The special reports prepared for Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
  • The special reports for other external agencies.
You will liaise with Corporate, Regional and Network Finance and Administration staff to obtain additional information and/or to clarify issues and figures contained in submitted financial reports as well as provide specialized advice to all Finance & Administration offices in matters pertaining to accounting and financial reporting.

Qualifications

You possess:
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
  • Three to five years of experience in related field.
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English.
  • Knowledge and experience in areas of financial reporting and accounting, IFRS financial legislation, corporate policies and procedures, and government funding issues, sufficient to oversee, complete or assist in complex in-depth analysis of any area, and to recommend changes to policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Proven experience with various software packages in delivering reports and projects, including SAP.
  • Capacity to interpret and reorganize data and information of a complex nature for presentation to all levels of management, in a clear and concise manner;
  • Ability and skills to make recommendations in writing and graphically illustrating regular and \'ad-hoc\' internal and external reports for senior management and the Board of Directors and for developing new formats for the financial statements and notes, as required;
  • Developing leadership qualities and be capable of working with various levels of management and as a strong team player;
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, involving complex analysis (with frequent interruptions).
