We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant based out of Markham, ON (Hybrid) or Calgary, AB (Hybrid), reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting. The role of Senior Financial Accountant is a hands-on position supporting subsidiaries of Xplore. This role is responsible for contributing to the month end close process including preparing and recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts. The individual should have a professional accounting designation (CPA) with a solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Accuracy, attention to detail, effective time management, advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP financial systems are essential to fulfill this role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly journal entries and period-end reconciliations for bank accounts.
• Prepare monthly entries, period-end reconciliations for other balance sheet accounts.
• Filing of sales tax returns for subsidiaries of Xplore.
• Assist with forecast and monthly financial analysis for subsidiaries of Xplore.
• Assist with annual financial statement audits by external auditors.
• Compiling the inputs and calculating the monthly cross charges between Xplore and its subsidiaries.
• Other ad-hoc analyses and tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 3+ years of related experience
• Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or finance
• Professional accounting designation (CPA)
• Solid understanding of IFRS
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience using ERP financial systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities and tight deadlines
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Background in or exposure to telecommunications industry considered an asset
