Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for the Global Finance and Operations Team. This role is located downtown Toronto, walking distance from Union Station. Hybrid - 3 days per week in office (or as required). Please note, this is a small downtown office, so collaboration, teamwork, and an \xe2\x80\x9call hands-on deck\xe2\x80\x9d mentality is crucial.This role reports into the Accounting Manager - Americas Region. The Senior Financial Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager - Americas Region in meeting objectives concerning financial accounting and reporting; management and security of the Corporation\'s assets; supervision of the maintenance of Corporation accounting ledgers; and improving operational efficiencies.In doing so, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for (but not limited to):\xc2\xb7 Maintain the accounting ledgers for Canadian cost centers in Workday and QuickBooks to ensure effective financial control and reporting to the UK Group Finance team including processing journal entries and account reconciliations.\xc2\xb7 Provide detailed, useful commentary through the Anaplan Financial Planning & Budgeting reporting model to clarify any variances between budget/forecast and actual figures for Canadian cost centers.\xc2\xb7 Participate in budget and planning process annually.\xc2\xb7 Process all accounts payable timely and manage any discrepancies or disputes.\xc2\xb7 Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and financial reports as needed.\xc2\xb7 Manage the preparation and filing of Canadian corporate Federal and Provincial tax returns in coordination with external tax preparers.\xc2\xb7 Provide assistance during internal audits, external agreed upon procedures and statutory audits of Canadian accounting ledger.\xc2\xb7 Produce semi-monthly payroll by initiating computer processing.\xc2\xb7 Manage the preparation and filing of the monthly Canadian commodity tax returns - GST, QST and HST.All applicants must meet the criteria below and are required to have:\xc2\xb7 A CPA designation in good standing.\xc2\xb7 A University degree (preferably with a major in Accounting).\xc2\xb7 3+ years of experience in Full Cycle Accounting, Budgeting & Forecasting, Management Reporting, General Ledger, etc.\xc2\xb7 Strong experience in the preparation and filing of the monthly Canadian commodity tax returns - GST, QST and HST.\xc2\xb7 General knowledge of reporting under Canadian GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS.\xc2\xb7 Experience with Workday GL.\xc2\xb7 Ceridian payroll experience an asset.\xc2\xb7 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.If you want to work with a fantastic group of people and for a firm that is known around the world for its integrity and collaboration (and you match the requirements), then please apply online referencing \xe2\x80\x9cSenior Financial Accountant\xe2\x80\x9d.
