We're currently looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team--someone who shares our passion for precision, innovation, and collaboration. In this leadership role, you won't just be estimating projects--you'll be shaping them.

Responsibilities:
Serve as a mentor and resource to fellow estimators; organize and coordinate estimating resources across disciplines.
Provide performance feedback and departmental input to the Estimating Manager.
Prioritize safety in all estimating practices, ensuring bids and methodologies reflect TESC's commitment to a safe work environment.
Collect and maintain up-to-date cost data on goods, materials, labor, and equipment from suppliers and subcontractors.
Continuously monitor supplier quotes, market bids, and industry trends that could impact estimate accuracy or competitiveness.
Analyze and identify the most competitive pricing through cost comparisons.
Review proposal specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine scope and estimate requirements.
Quantify all tender elements, including drawings, specs, and requirements.
Solicit internal and external quotes for materials, equipment, and sub-trades.
Attend pre-tender meetings, estimate reviews, and tender closings.
Prepare professional, detailed estimates including take-offs, equipment, and labour rates.
Recommend cost-effective alternatives based on quality, cost, or material availability.
Advise on cost/schedule risks, material fluctuations, and market trends.
Prepare comprehensive final estimate summaries addressing scope and pricing.
Review estimates with management as needed; ensure timely submission of tenders in coordination with central closing.
Revise tender estimates for construction impacts and maintain accurate documentation.
Stay current on relevant construction codes and municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
Conduct post-bid analyses to assess bid performance and improve accuracy.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Lead and organize client progress and closing meetings.
Ensure all bid appendices (schedules, methodologies, org charts, rates, etc.) are accurate and complete.
Manage bid documentation and file structures.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure tender compliance and support project success.
When successful, prepare turnover packages and support handoff to Project Managers.
Participate actively in company estimating training programs.
Update historical data in the TESC database regularly.
Attend industry events (conferences, trade shows, etc.) as required.
Collaborate with the Estimating Manager on defining and tracking departmental KPIs and reporting metrics.
Identify improvement opportunities for cost accuracy and estimation processes.
Review project budgets and profitability with supervisors and project teams as needed.
Job Specifications:
College diploma or equivalent training in construction or a related field (e.g. Mechanical)
5 to10 years of experience in construction management and estimating, .
Strong financial acumen and understanding of budget structures.
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with a focus on value-added tasks.
Proficient in Estimating Software
