Job Description


:We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time permanent position with an attractive hybrid work schedule arrangement.Reporting to the Director of Commercial & Estimating, Senior Estimator develops full-cycle construction project and operational cost estimates. Acting as an effective liaison between multiple stakeholders, the incumbent leads and supports the objectives of the division, utilizing the concepts of continuous improvement that contributes to Civeo\'s success from an estimating and market perspectiveResponsibilities:Estimating

  • Preparation of cost estimates of materials, equipment, utilities, & labor for camp projects (inclusive of construction & operations) based on contract bids, quotations, and specifications from the client in the competitive bid request.
  • Work with operations to prepare estimates for operational activities inclusive of food costs, staffing and labour requirements, telecommunications, maintenance, and consumables.
  • Build and maintain estimation index.
  • Research construction documents and analyze specifications.
  • Interpret applicable scope of work, constraints, risks, and opportunities throughout the competitive bid process and assign work tasks to various departments.
  • Prepare estimates and scope of work inclusive of allfor construction and service activities standard within camp projects.
  • Compare formulated costs for competitive bid submission to company\'s historical information to ensure accuracy. Review costs with senior management in both operations and construction to ensure alignment across all departments.
  • Monitor Estimating department KPIs and ensure the department goals are successfully and consistently met.
  • Implement and develop estimating process/procedure and ensure they are in compliance with Civeo standards and client requirements.
  • Assist senior management with complex estimates, competitive bids and contracts and with the implementation of initiatives for continuous process improvement to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of services.
  • Collaborate efficiently with all project stakeholders to provide support with specifications, cost estimates and adjustments.
  • Provide support for the competitive bid process and set up process for cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. This includes response to all requests for pricing packages for the client\'s specifications and requirements, verification and ensuring accuracy of the bid requests.
  • Liaise, build and nurture strong relationships with clients, vendors, contractors and company stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Bid review/ Post Bid/ No Bid Analysis with the management to ensure associated learning and communication takes place.
  • Keep updated on the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.
Project and Financial Controls
  • Ensure effective project control processes to monitor and compare planned scope of work, objectives, requirements, risks, schedules, and budgets against what is being delivered.
  • Complete project review with finance and project team at completion of project.
  • Incorporate and comply with Civeo\'s risk management policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Estimating, Construction Engineering, or related field with several years of experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in estimating principles are required.
  • Business acumen with big picture thinker.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build and nurture strong relationship with business stakeholders, contractors, and clients.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Modular construction or camp operations estimating experience is considered an asset.
  • Stays up to date on the industry, competitor, and market trends.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Must be able to travel periodically.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver\'s license
