is responsible for the review and supervision project tendering. They are an integral part of the estimating team, providing day-to-day leadership and resources to the estimating team in the securement of new work.
The Sr. Estimator is an individual who takes ownership of a project, uses strategic thinking and can produce a winning submission.

Key Responsibilities:
The ability to work effectively and accurately in time sensitive situations while delegating to a team. Assign opportunities to estimators & provide leadership and guidance to estimating team.
Perform tender review with estimators, lead weekly estimating meeting, lead bid reviews with estimating team.
Review follow-ups with Team Members.
Assist Fellow Team Members with HeavyBid to HeavyJob transfers
Preparing full estimates using HeavyBid software, from start to finish. Update and maintain HeavyBid resource data bases.
Management, preparation, and closing project tenders.
Performing quantity and material take-offs, preparation, and distribution of subtrade pricing invitations.
Work closely with management, estimating team, project management personnel to refine and adjust bidding processes.
Developing and maintaining relationships with subtrades.
Reviewing subtrade quotations for accuracy and ensuring compliance with tender documents.
Fielding questions from trades regarding drawings and specifications.
Participate in proposal building and marketing opportunities, creating project schedules, technical writing, and explanations of the construction process, building proposal content.
Monitor industry publications for upcoming project notifications, manage tender administration
Manage transition of successful bids from tender stage to operational startup, coordinating with project and operation teams.
Review potential project locations in detail during tender stage, coordinate with project personnel to seek advice, logistics, suggestions on resources or production rates, identify risks and challenges.
Consistent communication to management on bid progress, including results of all bid projects.
Analyzes plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects, perform complete estimates on selected projects, and review of estimates with management.
Communicates effectively (written and oral) with the estimating team, with all levels of management, clients and industry contacts, on a constant daily basis.
Shares expertise with the estimating team in an ongoing effort to develop, recommend revisions and implement procedures, standards, rules, and regulations. Share knowledge on what you've learned about the project during bid phase.
Take revisions and notes from management team on alterations to the bid, revise, review, and continually improve accuracy of information as close date approaches.
Supervises the solicitation of trades regarding bid invitations, pricing, addenda, and tender/bid closings.
Researches and analyzes cost data for review and presentation to management.
Advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education
: A diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
:
Minimum 10 years of experience as an Estimator or in a similar role.
Advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction or related industry experience is a strong asset
Technical Proficiency
: Advanced MS Office user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) with hands-on experience in project-delivery and document-control platforms, including HeavyBid for estimating and HeavyJob for project management.
Communication
: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between multiple stakeholders.
Organization & Detail-Oriented
: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

: Proactive approach to identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
Teamwork
