As the Senior Enterprise Solutions Technical Lead (SAP and Tableau Platform Operations Lead), you will spearhead the strategic and operational leadership of our SAP and Tableau platforms, ensuring their optimal performance, stability, and alignment with our business objectives. Reporting to the SAP & Technical Services (STSS) Manager, you will lead a team of skilled technical professionals dedicated to the administration, enhancement, and innovation of these critical platforms.In this key role, you will set the technical vision for STSS platform operations, overseeing system configurations, upgrades, and integrations. Your ability to communicate effectively and solve complex problems will be essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle technical challenges, implement best practices, and champion continuous improvement. Your leadership will be instrumental in managing work packages, ensuring compliance with governance standards, and aligning our enterprise solutions with the organization\'s strategic goals.Join our team to lead the evolution of our enterprise solutions and leave a lasting impact on our technical landscape!Specifically, you will provide leadership in the areas of:Strategic Planning & Operations Leadership:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on SAP and Tableau platform administration, capabilities, best practices, and implementation strategies.
  • Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals and roadmaps for SAP and Tableau solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic business and technology objectives.
  • Oversee the design, architecture, and technical administration of SAP and Tableau enterprise platforms to meet current and future organizational needs.
  • Ensure continuous research, updates, and improvements of SAP and Tableau solutions, identifying opportunities for reuse, migration, and retirement.
  • Develop and implement detailed operational plans and policies for SAP and Tableau platforms, including backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archiving.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business units, and technical partners to ensure the integrity, continuity, and success of enterprise solution projects.
  • Address solution-related problems, including integration, compatibility, and multi-platform challenges, while promoting standardized methods and techniques.
  • Ensure solutions, data strategies, and architectures comply with regulatory requirements and technology governance standards.
  • Establish and enforce mechanisms for monitoring compliance with governance policies, and measure solution and data quality.
  • Select and implement the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support SAP and Tableau solution goals.
  • Develop and promote enterprise solution methodologies and standards across the organization.
  • Direct and support technical platform operational teams to maintain continuity and consistency throughout SAP and Tableau projects.
  • Conduct solution and data capacity planning, life cycle management, and feasibility studies.
  • Coordinate backup, archival, and disaster recovery strategies for SAP and Tableau solutions.
Partnership, Vendor & Relationship Management:
  • Develop positive working relationships within Technology Services and across client and partner divisions, promoting collaboration and service excellence in cross-functional teams. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership throughout the organization.
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with City stakeholders and senior management, helping them identify opportunities where Technology Services can add value, drive transformation, or support program operations.
  • Oversee and strengthen relationships with external partners, managing large, complex contracts to ensure the successful delivery of transformation programs and maximize the return on City investments.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to select products and services that align with and advance organizational goals.
Culture and Team Leadership:
  • Manage, motivate, and train your team, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes high-quality work, continuous learning, and a drive for innovation.
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, work assignments, and performance reviews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Approve and manage vacation and overtime requests, monitor staff performance, authorize salary increments, and address disciplinary actions as needed.

What you bring to the role:Your application for the role of Senior Enterprise Solutions Technical Lead (Platform Operations Lead) should describe your qualifications as they relate to:
  • Considerable years of relevant, progressive supervisory work experience in complex IT platform implementation and sustainment operations with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Considerable experience with SAP or Tableau solutions such as SAP ERP Central Component, S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, SuccessFactors, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Business Intelligence, SAP Data Services, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Fiori, Enterprise Portal, Solution Manager, and Tableau Enterprise.
  • Considerable experience leading, managing, and motivating teams in support of operational projects and sustainment activities.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and manage client deliverables and expectations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presenting and composing written documents to senior IT and business stakeholders.
  • Considerable experience in system documentation preparation, reviews, and management, including options analysis, architecture, requirements, design, technical configuration, testing and platform support procedures.
  • University degree in computer science or a related discipline with several years of progressively more responsible technical administration/sustainment experience in large-scale IT solutions or the approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-divisional diverse environment.
