EXP is searching for a Senior Energy Modeller to join our Buildings team in our Markham, ON office. Reporting to the Mechanical Manager, the successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.

Your Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Mechanical Manager or Project Manager with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision on projects from start to completion.
  • Manage and deliver energy modelling and energy auditing types of projects.
  • Assist the design work related to the sustainability initiatives and innovative energy saving solutions.
  • Work with the clients and other consultants for feasibility study, master planning, support on documentation for government grants and incentive funding's, guiding implementation for design and construction.
  • Works with the design team and mentor design staff to produce schematic design, design development, tender and construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
  • Responsible for meeting engineering quality standards on assigned projects.
  • Prepare specifications, reports, and code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Responsible for applying risk management practices to all projects.
The Skills and Knowledge You Bring
  • Bachelor of Science with 5+years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or LEED Acreddited Professional credential desired.
  • Highly proficient with modelling software including with eQuest and/or IES.
  • Working knowledge of the building codes, ASHRAE, CSA and NFPA standards.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients.
  • Knowledge with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills including the abilities to multitask, prioritize, and manage resources effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-starter with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and varied workloads.
