Position Overview Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, this position is responsible for providing support to Corporate Finance by processing corporate level monthly and quarterly adjustments as well as reconciliations of specific corporate balance sheet and income statement accounts. The Senior Corporate Accountant plays a critical role in the consolidation process, and in the fulfillment of certain statutory reporting requirements. Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the intercompany reconciliation and elimination process including the review, reclassification of fees and posting manual entries.
  • Process revenue fees such as letters of credit fees (including the billing, reconciliation, and distribution of outstanding letters of credit listing).
  • Manage the corporate revenue, reforecast and budget process.
  • Prepare Statistics Canada surveys and support the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
  • Accountable for the processing of guarantee and finance fees.
  • Review daily transactions, month end schedules and reconciliations and prepare accrual entries.
  • Prepare quarterly General & Administrative variance analyses.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of select balance sheet accounts and proactively resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual internal / external reporting.
  • Liaise effectively and collaboratively with other departments regarding accounting matters and respond to transactional accounting questions and issues.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.
Qualification:
  • Minimum 5 years of previous relevant experience.
  • CPA designation or in progress strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Advanced Microsoft Excel (able to work with large volumes of data).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage the pressures of month-end and quarter-end reporting cycles.
  • Collaborative, analytical and independent thinker who works well within a team.
  • Experience with Yardi, JDE and Hubble is an asset
