Our client is a gold mining company. They are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant who will be responsible for day-to-day corporate accounting processes.

About the Opportunity

• Create, reviews & approves day-to-day corporate accounting (journal entry review and posting), including review of daily FX rates and monthly group FX rates
• Review and update recurring Accounting schedules (e.g., fixed asset amortization, short-term investments, LT debt, accruals, account reconciliations etc.), and book respective monthly entries.
• Reviews bank transactions and bank reconciliations, booking entries to correct/update.
• Reviews monthly intercompany invoices, filing HST/QST returns and expense reports.
• Prepares all invoice-to-pay related activities for (e.g., weekly payment run), while adhering to and enforcing the delegation of authority policy.
• Review updated approved supplier list and intercompany invoicing, ensuring compliance with the Expense Report & Procurement Policy
• Prepares monthly financial reporting package and variance analysis
• Prepares quarterly disclosure schedules (e.g., commitment, share continuity, debt)
• Reviews quarterly CEO and Chair of Board expenses
• Prepares the quarterly external audit fee schedule.
• Secondary - Supports training of Co-op student and updates procedures/documentation required to support training on recurring processes such as: monthly account reconciliations, calculations for loans, HST/QST returns, and the Stats Canada report.
• Supports internal & external audits.
• Completes ad-hoc analysis and projects

About You

• CPA Designation or close to completing
• 3+ year full cycle Accounting experience
• Larger company experience (public IFRS preferred)

Salary Range
$90,000 - $100,000/year
