About the Role

In FTI Consulting's Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment, we focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. We operate in small engagement teams to provide direct hands-on experience to our clients.

What You'll Do

The Senior Consultant will work with clients in domestic and multinational companies across various and diverse industries. Some of the job responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for day-to-day financial activities of restructuring and/or transactions related projects including interaction with top restructuring experts in the industry, legal and finance professionals from other firms and senior client management.
  • Apply business, accounting, finance and analysis skills to various client situations and practice disciplines.
  • Review financial statements and perform quality of earnings analysis.
  • Prepare complex financial projections to model business processes and/or actual or hypothetical transactions (including operating as a going concern, sale of the company, liquidation, etc).
  • Assess business plans, cash flows, and analyze large amounts of data associated with restructuring plans.
  • Conduct financial due diligence and financial analysis of clients and potential target companies.
  • Understand all aspects of the client's business including review of operational and financial performance (such as actual vs. budget variance analysis on cash flow results).
  • Draft written reports and/or presentations for third parties on the project scope, findings and/or results of activities.
  • Work with the client's senior management, legal counsel, and investment bankers for the sale of the business, non-core operations or other assets to complete the transaction.
  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices.


How You'll Grow

This is an excellent opportunity for a person with proven, hands-on accounting/finance experience who wants to gain valuable management and developmental experience working with leading industry professionals to provide finance and consulting related services to debtors, creditors, private equity funds and other stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications/Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance.
  • CPA, CFA or MBA candidates strongly preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm (public accounting, consulting, etc).
  • Understanding of financial statements and corporate functions.
  • Advanced problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Advanced Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communications, including report writing.
  • Strong interest in finance and working in a professional services environment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices
