Project Overview
The Contact Centre Program aims to bring consistent, centralized service to over 80 contact centres across multiple ministries serving Albertans, departments, boards, and agencies. This role supports the development and enhancement of the program's reporting capabilities -- primarily through the creation of a new Power BI workforce insights dashboard that consolidates HCM data metrics.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Contact Centre Service Owner, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions to support data-driven decision-making. The role will focus on dashboard design, stakeholder engagement, data governance, and reporting optimization using Power BI.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Develop Power BI Dashboards:
Build a new workforce insights dashboard consolidating HCM data metrics; handle project planning, prototype design, testing, and release.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Engage with internal and external teams, both technical and non-technical, to align reporting deliverables with business goals.
Documentation:
Capture and maintain detailed business and technical documentation for transparency and traceability.
Training and Support:
Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to enable effective use of new dashboards.
Project Management:
Track and manage tasks, timelines, risks, and issues, ensuring project milestones are met.
Communication:
Present insights, progress updates, and findings clearly to stakeholders through presentations and demonstrations.
Data Governance and Quality:
Ensure adherence to GoA's data governance, quality, security, and privacy policies.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and improve data accessibility across the contact centre program.
Qualifications & Skills
Mandatory Requirements:
Proven experience in Power BI design, development, and deployment.
Strong understanding of data visualization best practices, data modeling, and data governance.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and communicating with both technical and business audiences.
Solid project coordination and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Assets:
Experience with HCM or workforce data reporting.
Familiarity with Azure or Microsoft cloud-based BI tools.
Understanding of public sector data privacy and FOIP compliance.
Prior experience in a contact centre or government environment.
Working Conditions
Primarily remote work within Alberta; must comply with GoA network and data security requirements.
Occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton (3-4 times per fiscal year).
No expenses related to travel, accommodation, or commuting are covered.
Resource must use personally provided equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).

Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check prior to start.

Fixed hourly rate inclusive of all overheads, equipment, supplies, and administrative costs.
