As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at Alliants, you will be a pivotal link between our clients' complex data and their strategic business decisions. You will partner directly with client stakeholders to translate their needs into powerful analytical solutions. This role requires a blend of deep technical BI expertise, strong business acumen, and a passion for empowering organizations through data-driven insights.
Job Requirements
4+ years of dedicated experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Analyst role.
Proven experience working with sensitive data in a regulated industry, such as healthcare, is required.
Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including writing complex DAX, advanced data modeling, and performance optimization.
Strong experience with Power Query (M) for data transformation.
Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, data profiling, and validation.
Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and translating ambiguous business requirements into concrete technical deliverables.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an impeccable eye for detail and data accuracy.
Experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
Experience with a modern cloud data stack (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks) for data analysis.
Familiarity with migrating analytics from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
Understanding of broader data engineering and data warehousing concepts.
An excellent communicator, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Highly collaborative, with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Curious, proactive, and driven to understand the "why" behind the data.
Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Passionate about building high-quality, sustainable, and scalable analytics solutions.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Job Responsibilities
Business Engagement & Requirements Gathering:
Partner closely with client stakeholders across various business functions to deeply understand their strategic objectives, operational challenges, and reporting requirements.
Lead discovery sessions and workshops to define KPIs and translate complex business logic into clear technical specifications for BI solutions.
BI Solution Development & Visualization:
Design, develop, and maintain intuitive and impactful Power BI reports and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights for business users, from executives to operational teams.
Champion data visualization best practices to tell compelling stories and drive user adoption.
Data Modelling & Platform Collaboration:
Develop and optimize robust, scalable Power BI data models, implementing dimensional modeling best practices (star schemas) to ensure performance and clarity.
Collaborate effectively with Data Engineering teams to influence the design of curated data layers in modern cloud platforms (e.g., data lakehouse), ensuring data is modeled correctly for analytical consumption.
Contribute to data governance by ensuring consistency, reliability, and accuracy in all BI solutions.
Analytics & Insight Generation:
Conduct ad-hoc and exploratory analysis to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and answer complex business questions for our clients.
Provide training and support to empower client teams to utilize self-service analytics tools effectively.
