Robert Half is partnered with our client in their search for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their esteemed private family office. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will assume a pivotal role in managing the intricate financial landscape of the family, safeguarding accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality in all financial transactions. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing financial records, budgets, and day-to-day accounting operations to ensure the financial stability and security of our family\'s wealth.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, impeccable organization, proficiency in project management, financial acumen, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven track record of meeting critical deadlines with precision.

Opportunity Highlights:

- Responsible for financial transactions, cash management, and statement preparation
- Collaborate with external accounting and legal counsel for tax planning, preparation, and compliance
- Oversee budgeting, financial management, and daily approvals (governance for Accountant)
- Engage in financial planning, projection, measurement, and operational tracking
- Develop and implement controls, policies, and procedures for the family office
- Provide financial services related to various transactions

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain, generate, and analyze individual and consolidated financial statements for the family\'s private entities and trusts
- Prepare monthly financial updates and assess the family\'s net worth
- Oversee and support the timely and accurate update of investment activities for the family
- Manage cash flow and prepare wire payments, monitoring cash position for private entities, the family, and trusts
- Ensure timely preparation of tax returns for private entities, trusts, and individual tax returns
- Prepare documents for tax season in collaboration with tax and accounting teams to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Oversee payroll processing and prepare payroll remittances on a biweekly basis
- Supervise the Accountant, including journal entries, transaction updates in Sage, and preparation of checks for private entities and trusts
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
- Implement consistent accounting policies (ASPE), practices, and procedures
- Handle remittance processing, including disbursements, cash requests, coordination of household payroll, and maintaining financial history
- Produce consolidated reports, including net worth statements, monthly and yearly reports, budget variance reports, cash flow reports, and compliance work for each bank/investment account
- Track projects against budgets and establish an accounting system for expense tracking across multiple entities
- Perform other duties as assigned

Your key qualifications:
- Demonstrated analytical background with substantial experience in reconciling and reporting financial information
- Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direction, driven to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in SAGE and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Dashboard software is a plus
- Strong understanding of maintaining and respecting the confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with professional and personal contacts
- Positive attitude and the ability to manage responsibilities calmly and efficiently
- CPA designation is preferred but not mandatory
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Private family office experience is an asset
