The Role
We are seeking a
Senior Bookkeeper
to join our team full-time. This is an in-office role based in
Toronto, ON
. You will be responsible for managing core financial operations and supporting accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with a dynamic healthcare company and have a direct impact on our success.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
Prepare and review journal entries using QuickBooks
Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet items
Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
Conduct month-end and year-end closings, including accruals and reporting
Process accurate and timely payroll for employees
Maintain and manage fixed asset records
Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and profit & loss reports
Support external accountants during audits and tax filings
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for financial reporting and communication
Ensure precision, efficiency, and timely execution across all accounting tasks
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks
Strong understanding of AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel is a must)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Experience in a healthcare company is an asset
CPA designation (or working toward it) is an asset
