Your Opportunity:Description:This WHS Business Partnerships Senior Advisor is direct leadership role in the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) department for AHS and reports directly to the WHS Services Director. This unique position directly supports clients and is responsible and accountable for providing leadership for the activities of the zone level WHS services, in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The WHS Business Partnerships Senior Advisor will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key partners in order to provide local leadership to the delivery of WHS services that meets the needs of the local work groups and is consistent with the AHS Strategic Plan for WHS. Leadership will be provided through effective communication, ethical decision making and commitment to achieving established goals and objectives, ensuring outcome measurements and standards are met. The WHS Business Partnerships Senior Advisor is also responsible for the delivery of WHS services within the assigned area of responsibility and assures that all site(s)/sector(s)/portfolio(s), services and functions are being provided in a consistent and timely fashion, congruent with the rest of the WHS department and with an emphasis on excellent customer service. Identifies key challenges/opportunities and provides leadership to support the development of innovative approaches in ways that enable the achievement of the vision and long term goals. This position has direct supervision responsibilities and for it\'s direct reports is accountable for assigning work, staff performance, recruitment, performance management, and coach/learning plans.

Required Qualifications:A minimum of a diploma/certification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline. 3-5 years in a professional health and safety role or related discipline. The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Facilitation/coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Significant experience in problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, and negotiation. Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships/partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communicator with strong organizational & influencing skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Adaptable to constant change.

Preferred Qualifications:CRSP certification preferred. Proven abilities in concerns resolution, investigation, & negotiation. Ability & comfort with decision making. Experience in initiating & fostering positive relationships. Supporting highly complex or sensitive issues in a professional manner. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, time management, influential skills, client focused approach, & commitment to providing quality services.
