POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Improvement Advisor to join the Quality Improvement (QI) team at THP. Reporting to the QI Manager, the successful candidate will work to develop and implement processes that integrate quality improvement and evidence-based solutions/practices in direct support of its Strategic and Quality Improvement Plans. This role will be focused on functioning as a lead for a variety of projects at both the enterprise-wide and individual Program/Department level aimed at standardization of practices and implementation of new and transformative care approaches within and beyond THP\xe2\x80\x99s walls.

The QI team resides within the Quality, Risk & Patient Safety Department and looks to advance the hospital\xe2\x80\x99s goals of fostering a culture of Quality and Safety. The QI team is responsible for leading initiatives that improve quality, access and sustainability and drive safety. This exciting role not only offers an opportunity to make a significant impact across our multi-site structure, it will also work to deliver a new kind of health care for a healthier community.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Function as a lead for enterprise-wide or Program/Department-specific level quality improvement initiatives involving interdisciplinary, multi-site teams to advance THP\xe2\x80\x99s Strategic and Quality Improvement Plans.
  • Work with the Accreditation team to develop the Accreditation sustainability model and implementation roadmap for the years ahead within Foundations of Clinical Excellence.
  • Identify gaps in compliance and strategize improvements by using lean methodologies in the delivery of patient services to meet Accreditation best practices.
  • Understand and translate new standards for the THP environment and work with leads to develop action plans to implement new best practices.
  • Manage multiple project goals, timelines, milestones, and resources in collaboration with hospital programs, and enabling services.
  • Function as a lead and support the coordination and facilitation of projects using project management fundamentals.
  • Present ongoing status updates at various THP committees and forums.
  • Educate and lead knowledge translation during implementation of quality improvement initiatives to frontline/enabling services staff.
  • Identify, develop and track key quality and patient safety performance metrics in partnership with key enabling stakeholders to drive system-level performance.
  • Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • An undergraduate degree in business, life sciences or a health-related discipline is required.
  • A Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree specializing in quality and/or patient safety, business administration, public health, or healthcare administration or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with complex and dynamic teams in healthcare or related sector is required.
  • Lean Six Sigma training and/or knowledge of principles, methods and tools is strongly preferred.
  • Superior, demonstrated process and/or quality improvement and change management. experience, leading complex, interdisciplinary and cross-program/enterprise initiatives is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams/stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding and experience with project management principles and managing projects.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (presentation, written, and oral) skills to deliver comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians.
  • Superior strategic, critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to collect, analyze, share, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
