Our team ensures the implementation of CRS/FATCA/QI/QDD compliance programs that aim to combat tax evasion. We work with all areas of the Bank, and work with the U.S. tax team. We are looking for a senior advisor to support the smooth running of activities related to CRS/FATCA compliance programs, including coaching and supporting the monthly detection and annual reporting processes. You will work collaboratively with all team members and technology management teams that support our processes.

This position reports to the Senior Manager - Centre of Expertise, Operations Investments

What will your day-to-day tasks be?
  • Own and understand CRS/FATCA regulation, business rules and processes to ensure process and data integrity.
  • Work collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of reports and reportings/declarations;
  • Identify IT and business issues related to CRS/FATCA processes and IT solutions and support the analysis and development of solutions supporting their resolution;
  • Provide an advisory role and in IT and business process improvement activities related to programs.
  • Contribute to the CRS/FATCA governance roadmap by developing, implementing, monitoring and controlling systems and work tools to optimize the effectiveness of compliance programs and reduce impacts on the customer and employee experience.
  • Contribute to the governance of CRS-FATCA programs
  • Make recommendations to those responsible for the governance of regulatory programs regarding the implementation and evolution of applications and systems used in the activities of the Centre of Expertise.

Competencies required
  • A bacheloraAEURA(TM)s degree in a related field plus 7 years of relevant experience or a completed masteraAEURA(TM)s degree in a related field plus 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven data processing and automation improvements (Access, Excel, Power BI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of banking product and investment operations and processes
  • Excellent ability to influence and lead
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage risks
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (for dealing with English-speaking partners outside Quebec)
Preferred competencies
  • Knowledge of Canadian and US FATCA/CRS laws and regulations
  • Good knowledge of the various systems used at National Bank (e.g., OSST80, ICOP, BO, CMOD, Secure Zone)
  • Good analytical skills and ability to summarize
