Summary
We're looking for a detail-oriented and dependable
Seasonal Tax Preparer
to assist with the preparation and filing of personal tax returns (T1s) during the busy season. You'll work closely with our tax team to collect client information, prepare returns in tax software, and ensure timely, accurate filing -- all while learning the ropes of Canadian tax compliance in a professional yet supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of
T1 personal income tax returns
for individuals and sole proprietors
Review source documents (T-slips, receipts, assessments) for completeness and accuracy
Communicate with clients via email and phone to obtain missing information
Use professional tax software (training provided) to prepare returns
Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations applicable to Canadian businesses.
Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize client outcomes.
Support audit processes by providing relevant documentation.
Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero to manage client data.
Support the team with administrative tasks such as e-filing and document management
Qualifications
Current student or recent graduate in
Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic understanding of Canadian personal income tax (completion of an intro tax course or prior experience is an asset but not required)
Excellent communication and client service skills
Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
Excellent analysis skills and attention to detail

Have experience with

CPA designation
