Salary: 26.88 to 30.20 per hour in accordance with the Collective agreement

About the Position The Volunteer Coordinator, Family Programs coordinates the recruitment, training and scheduling of volunteers for community programs. A key component of this work is coordinating the volunteers for the Supervised Access Program. Some evening and weekend work required. Program Delivery

  • In consultation with the Program Manager, develops and maintains volunteer recruitment, retention and recognition strategies and materials for the agency
  • Under the direction of the Program Manager, screens potential volunteers; conducts interviews and checks references
  • Provides feedback to the Program Manager regarding volunteer performance
  • Attends volunteer fairs and public events to promote the volunteer opportunities in Family Programs when possible
  • Works with the Program Coordinator to plan and conduct volunteer orientation and training
  • Schedules volunteers, in consultation with Program Coordinator
  • Maintains volunteer records
  • Provides ongoing support to volunteers including through newsletters and special events
Program Planning
  • In consultation with the Program Manager develops and maintains volunteer policies, including for recruitment and training
Support Work
    • Attends Supervised Access team meetings as required
    • Attends Family Programs team meetings as required
    • Attends other meetings as required by the program manager
    • Provides back up support for the SAP Program Coordinator as required
About You You have any combination of training and experience equivalent to a bachelor\'s degree in social science or a related field minimum of three (3) years of experience within the community based non-profit sector. Bilingualism (English and French is considered an asset). In addition, you have: You bring the following:
      • Ability to multi-task
      • Experience with data collection, data management and data reporting
      • Some experience in planning and delivering training.
      • Strong Administrative and organizational skills and the capacity to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work with diverse groups of people
      • Strong technical and computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
      • Must be able to work in a diplomatic and respectful way
