Job Summary & Key ResponsibilitiesA part-time academic is required to teach four tutorial sections of ASSC 1400.03 Introduction to the Social Sciences in the Fall term (September to December 2024). The sections are scheduled on Mondays from 11:35-12:25; Tuesdays from 15:35-16:25; Wednesdays from 14:35-15:25; and Fridays from 10:35-11:25. The part-time academic will also be required to attend the weekly lecture on Fridays from 11:35-13:25.Duties include leading tutorials consisting of 25 students per section, mentoring students, and marking assignments in this multi-disciplinary, team-taught first-year class, the curriculum of which includes topics and readings related to globalization, social justice, and climate justice. The successful candidate will have an active role on the teaching team and is required to attend occasional team meetings. The position reports to the Faculty Coordinator of ASSC 1400.
Qualifications/Requirements of PositionApplicants should possess a Ph.D. in a social science discipline, or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program. Previous experience teaching at the university level is required
