Purpose of the position

The Inside Sales position is responsible for achieving sales growth targets and strategic priorities while driving collaboration across the business, maintaining existing accounts and aligning them with the DSV Sales Process. Focus on new targets and prospects by selling DSV Road products and solutions; ensuring alignment across functional areas (Products, Services, Sales, Operations) throughout all phases of the sales cycle.

Key Tasks

Market Intelligence

  • Initiate relationships with prospective clients via targeted telemarketing campaigns
  • Provides initial introduction to DSV Road products & services
  • Have a strong general market knowledge of road transportation (intra-Canada and cross-border)
  • Generate and qualify leads via various sources i.e. Unassigned Accounts, CRM Prospect Pool, Internal and External requests
  • Gather initial information for appropriate lead qualification; communicate findings to Sales Management for account assignment
  • Capture into CRM all sales leads as well as Market Intelligence sales cycles and follow up appropriately
  • Actively participate, follow up and support in defined marketing campaigns as required (i.e. direct mail, consolidation programs, service catalogues, etc.)
  • Assist sales organization in profiling of potential target clientele and prospects utilizing sales tools available
  • Ensure business is retained by maintaining and developing relationships and working with operations to improve service levels
  • Verify information in CRM for possible existing clients and historic overview
Account Management
  • Provide follow-up calls to submitted quotations within defined timelines
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking through the CRM system
  • Assist Sales team in Account Plan development, Mini or Full (TBD based on the size of the account)
  • Develop, grow, and manage an account in accordance with key performance indicators
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the CRM tool
  • New business development
Implementation
  • Support creation of SOP documentation & updates for current and new business
  • Support new Customer Implementation process including:
- Setup accounts with DSV credit department for new business onboarding
- Actively support internal communications for new client alert to appropriate Operations teams
- Communicate and escalate client issues or concerns to Manager

Customer Relationships
  • Organize and participate in regular reviews with the accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and sustainable business relationship
  • Builds congruity and trust with customers by being up-to-date about customer\'s business and the market
  • Develop, build rapport, and nurture long term partnerships with the accounts, translating our global capabilities to customer value, for maintaining and continually expanding account share penetration
  • Supports customer retention and maintains strategic Client relationships by conducting joint visits with Product and Sales Management
  • Work collaboratively with Sales Managers, Account Managers, Pricing Team and the Operational team to guarantee customers\' operations are processed thoroughly and efficiently
  • Create a comprehensive global network of contacts

Educational background / Work experience
  • High school certificate
  • 3 to 5 years of Industry experience
  • CIFFA, an asset
  • 2 years of Customer Service Experience, an asset
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets
Language Skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Additional languages considered an asset
Computer Literacy
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of CRM - Preferably Microsoft Dynamics
