Commercial Roofing Estimator/Sales Specialist
with strong skills in estimating, plan reading, and client relationship management. This position plays a critical role in driving growth and securing new opportunities in the commercial roofing sector.
Responsibilities:
Estimating
Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial flat roofing projects, including materials, labor, and subcontractor components.
Analyze scopes of work and assess job requirements to produce precise, competitive estimates.
Review construction documents (plans, specifications, etc.) to ensure a full understanding of project scope.
Sales & Client Development
Meet with prospective clients, including GCs, to understand project requirements and present roofing solutions.
Maintain and grow long-term client relationships through clear, timely, and professional communication.
Provide detailed proposals and support client decision-making with well-structured project information.
Project Coordination Support
Collaborate with internal teams including project managers and coordinators to align on project scope and goals.
Participate in pre-construction meetings and site visits as necessary to refine estimate accuracy.
Plan Reading & Analysis
Read, analyze, and interpret construction plans and architectural drawings to assess project requirements.
Evaluate structural details, materials, and specific flat roofing needs to produce precise takeoffs and quantities.
Identify challenges and requirements unique to each project based on plan details, ensuring accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Project Coordination
Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and GCs to ensure alignment on project requirements and goals.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Maintain clear, consistent communication with GCs and clients throughout the bidding and project processes.
Provide all necessary information to GCs, promptly respond to inquiries, and support decision-making by offering thorough, accurate project details.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial roofing sales, with a strong background in estimating.
Familiarity with flat roofing systems, materials, and construction methods.
Sales experience is required, as the candidate will be meeting potential clients, managing relationships, and growing the client base.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Compensation:
Base + Commission:
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
