Department Overview

The TDAF Risk Strategy & Policy Team is responsible for the development and execution of automated risk decision strategies and initiatives that will assist TDAF business partners to achieve growth and profitability targets while maintaining the overall risk quality of our lending portfolios. Accountabilities include providing leadership on optimizing auto-adjudication strategies, monitoring and oversight of a highly dynamic and exciting portfolio, and supporting policy changes.

This role requires a combination of technical skills, project management, business knowledge and interpersonal skills:

Interpersonal Skills:

• Strong ownership mentality and can do attitude
• Flexibility and resilience to execute in an agile environment, including the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently

• Strong presentation and communication skills

Technical Skills:

• High Proficiency in Python, SQL, SAS and Tableau, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages and platforms
• Prior experience in machine learning (e.g., Decision tree, XGBoost) and building models in MS Azure would be considered a strong asset
• High Proficiency in MS Office: Excel (Pivot tables and etc.), Word and PowerPoint
• Computer programming background (e.g., Visual basic, C or other) is an asset

Business Knowledge:

• 4-5 years of Retail Credit Risk Management experience in a financial institution or similar
• Prior experience on auto-adjudication strategy development would be considered a strong asset
• Auto Finance industry experience would be considered a strong asset
• Demonstrated strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills

Reporting to the Senior Manager, TDAF Credit Risk Strategy & Policy, the Risk Strategy Manager will design and monitor credit decision strategy enhancements for the TDAF portfolio.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment and will be part of a learning culture where ongoing development is encouraged

Specific accountabilities include:

• Participate in development, design, testing and verification of TDAF Auto Adjudication Acquisition Strategies.
• Regularly monitor performance of existing and new strategies, in terms of both the rate of auto-adjudication versus expectations and historical levels, and the on-book performance of loans which are funded through the various implemented strategies.
• Represent Retail Risk Management as a subject matter expert in the planning of new initiatives and product launches for TDAF.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders including Risk Infrastructure and Reporting Team, TDBFG Risk, TDAF Product group and external vendors.
• Provide insights and analysis that will identify origination and delinquency trends and inform revenue enhancement and loss mitigation decisions.

Additional Information

• Post-secondary degree is required (preferably in a quantitative field: i.e. Math, Statistics, Computer Science or similar).
• A Master\'s Degree is considered to be an asset.
