Department Overview

The Business Banking Credit Management team structures credit applications, providing review and analysis for all potential corporate and commercial deals for the Bank. Our professionals offer a full suite of customized credit and cash management solutions to meet the complex needs of our clients. We provide credit administrative and operational support and offer dedicated relationship coverage to the commercial clients. Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and/or over 7 years of relevant experience
  • Substantial expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas of commercial or equipment finance credit
  • Excellent analytical, judgement and decision-making skills in assessing and handling risk profile for team processes
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite, productivity tools and end-user software
  • A dynamic professional with a positive approach and strong communications skills to liaise with cross functional teams and colleagues
  • Robust organizational and with the ability to work in a demanding environment and handle multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Bilingual: French & English

The TD Equipment Finance (TDEF) team is a centre of excellence within TD Specialized Commercial Banking. Our mandate is to structure equipment financing (leases and loans) for business clients and prospects as an alternative to other conventional bank sources of financing such as term loans.

For the position of Senior Credit Analyst, the incumbent will be structuring credit for assigned portfolios and assessing credit worthiness of potential customers while adhering to TD's credit risk policies.
The Senior Credit Analyst will be responsible for preparing credit reviews, structure facilities, approve draw requests and monitor, control and drive profitable business growth.

On a typical day at work, it would look like the following: Structure and package competitive credit solutions on time to meet customer needs. This involves preparing credit applications with a high quality of risk assessment, credit structure, due diligence, and credit presentation. You will assess and structure requests for some of TDEF's largest and most complex financing opportunities.

Actively participate and contribute to the management of TDEF standalone portfolio to ensure accounts are appropriately monitored.

Deliver sound equipment financing expertise.

Present larger, complex transactions to senior management team.
Work with some of the most highly skilled individuals in the equipment finance industry.

Continually deliver exceptional service at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously improve the customer experience
Ensure business operations are following applicable requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets) to increase profitability and enable business growth

Contribute to business objectives for Operational Excellence
Integrate knowledge of the enterprise sub-function's or business line's overarching strategy in developing solutions across multiple functions or operations

Interpret internal and external business challenges and the industry environment, recommend course of action and standard methodologies to improve products, processes or services

Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest

Provide product and industry knowledge for own area of expertise and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit

Keep current on emerging trends and developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques
