Working Arrangement Hybrid The opportunity

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of production-ready Power BI applications for risk management reporting and analysis
  • Build a strategic partnership with FRM teams and IT partner.
  • Understanding of interactions between teams \xe2\x80\x93 Collaborative model and relationship management
  • Adherence to FRM standards in architecture, programming, and documentation
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in collecting and understanding business requirements and communicating to all stakeholders including IT
  • Seek/offer alternative solutions when desired solutions are onerous to deliver from a technical perspective
  • Take ownership of identifying and understanding data issues and reporting spec gaps, set priorities with the business and stakeholders to resolve them
  • Overview the various data feeds & outline how they are used. Ensure understanding of specific feed requirements
  • Overview and maintenance of the various Reporting Applications, PBI dashboard and reports.
  • Solid understanding of reporting development process including data exchanges, roles responsibilities and end user requirements
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycles

What we are looking for
  • Senior level Power BI programming (Power Query & M Language) including design, development, testing, troubleshooting and production readiness
  • Senior SQL developer skills including data model design, database script development, preparation of database views, testing, troubleshooting and production readiness
  • Open minded to share ideas & recommendations and collaborate with team members
  • Can-do altitude and delivers under pressure in a fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical skills & eager to learn new technology
  • Understanding of financial risk management and risk reporting and governance process
  • Experience in financial risk report with PBI technology or other BI tools.
  • Experience in programing with Python, R, SQL (Must have)
  • Experience in building data pipelines and PBI data model with PBI technology (Must have)
  • Experience in programing with Excel VBA, Microsoft .Net (nice to have)
  • Experience in creating PBI dashboard and report for financial risk management (nice to have)
  • Basic understanding of Azure data platform (nice to have)
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure based technology frameworks and platforms (nice to have)
  • Understanding of software development life cycle (nice to have)
  • Understanding of design principle and best practice to achieve best user experiences in the context if PBI dashboard and reporting
  • Knowledge of database documentation standards and good practices

Salary & Benefits The annual base salary for this role in the primary location of Toronto, Ontario is expected to be between $82,500.00 CAD - $148,500.00 CAD. If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
