Project Overview

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Risk Manager for a large and complex rail system project in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. This position will become part of a team serving as the primary source of sound professional oversight of project delivery the client\'s compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements, procurement, risk management and construction expertise and judgement in all phases of the Project works.

Position Summary

The Project Risk Manager is responsible for provision of support and guidance for Project Risk Management (PRM) and relevant internal and external stakeholders in PRM matters across the project. Responsible for providing technical advice and management of the Risk Management Program. The role requires a people person with ability to drive focus on PRM, lead through influence and connect PRM with key interfaces across the project scope. Working in close coordination with project leaders, establishing stakeholder relationships and gaining proposal teams and project management teams\' trust, your broad experience in construction, engineering or rail will support your ability to quickly grasp the policies, processes, and structures by which our projects work within.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project risk management program across the project
  • Manage and Maintain risk activities to ensure alignment with the risk management plan.
  • Mentor, train and advise project leaders in risk awareness.
  • Deliver training in project risk management.
  • Arrange and Facilitate Workshops
  • Deliver to the Project Execution Plan.
  • Liaise with Bechtel and customer leaders in all aspects of the project risk management program.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously under pressure
  • Support and monitor the implementation of the PRM function across the project.
  • Advise on schedule and cost risk analysis (QCRA & QSRA)
  • Consolidate risks from project level to Program level for overall review and reporting.
  • Report Risk Metrics and graphical displays including dashboards to Project Management.
  • Develop, maintain, and track risk dashboards.
Job Knowledge
  • Minimum of 5 years\' experience in risk management in a project environment
  • Minimum of 5 years\' experience working in projects ideally within construction
  • Firm understanding of engineering and construction procedures, principles, and concepts.
  • Knowledge of the planning and execution of rail mega projects, either as part of a project management team or contractor tea advantageous
Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 5 years experience in risk management of a large construction project.
  • Experience working with all discipline risks during project stages from feasibility to handover.
  • Strong communication skills and writing skills across multiple levels of Management.
  • Ability to lead through influence.
  • Fluent in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
  • Demonstrated commitment to Zero Accident safety program.
  • Your ability to work under pressure to meet simultaneous deadlines and your self-driven aptitude to work autonomously will be a key driver to your success.
