Environment, Social & Governance Credit Risk Management (ESG-CRM) under Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is responsible for the identification, assessment, remediation and reporting of climate risk within TDBG\xe2\x80\x99s credit portfolio. The group is accountable for ensuring that the risks associated with climate change are incorporated into the broader assessment of how TD\xe2\x80\x99s credit products and exposures fit within TD\xe2\x80\x99s Risk Appetite. ESG-CRM provides strategic guidance, advice and independent challenge to support TD in achieving its climate objectives in the broader context of meeting its strategic objectives. Job Details
Reporting to the Senior Manager, ESG-CRM, the Credit Risk Manager will support implementing and executing the strategy to incorporate climate risk considerations into credit process. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment for an emerging high-profile area of focus and will be part of a learning culture where ongoing development is encouraged. Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead the Climate Credit Analytics initiative to advance our analytical capabilities to identify and measure transition and physical climate risk impact on non-retail borrowers within climate-sensitive industries;
  • Develop and implement the approach to improve climate risk considerations within transactional credit processes for non-retail lending; Coordinate workshops with industry representatives from lines of business and/or credit risk management teams to solicit feedback, expertise opinion, and build rapport;
  • Coordinate review and validation activities, as applicable, for climate credit risk vendor models;
  • Collaborate with other climate initiatives (e.g., Scenario Analysis Program) to connect use cases and build synergies;
  • Represent credit risk in climate-related workshops and engage senior management on key decision-making as appropriate;
  • Support ad-hoc deliverables and initiatives related to climate risk management on TD\xe2\x80\x99s lending business;
Job Requirements

  • Analytical skills: ability to analyze data/ information, to effectively challenge, and to make proper recommendation
  • Strong communication skills: clear articulation of the risks identified; facilitate effective discussion on complex issues
  • Relationship management skills: know how to work with both Business and Technology partners
  • Conflict resolution skills: ability to effectively address different opinions and to deliver results
  • Adaptivity: ability to remain organized and manage through multiple deliverables
  • Organizational awareness: acumen to understand roles, relationships, and structures within the organization
  • Business credit management, ESG, and/or risk management experience are considered assets
